This workshop will be hosted online, through a virtual platform. Your registration includes four days of online instruction from our Master Teachers (Barbara Bates and Linda Winston) covering the 10 courses of the DNS-CT program, access to digital workshop materials, and access to the 10 certification exams.

This workshop provides 22.5 continuing education hours and covers the following content:

• Survey Readiness 24/7/365 for the Nurse Leader
• Survey Management and Enforcement for the Nurse Leader
• Compliance and Ethics Essentials for the Nurse Leader
• Essential Business Skills for the Nurse Leader
• MDS and Medicare Process Essentials for the Nurse Leader
• Care Management and Surveillance Systems for the Nurse Leader

To earn the DNS-CT credential, you must:

• Hold a current RN license
• Have the equivalent of two years of full-time post-acute care experience, with a minimum of one year of experience either as a DNS or relevant nursing leadership experience
• Take the DNS-CT courses with exams and pass with a score of 80% or better. Each course provides three attempts to pass a final certification exam with a score of 80% or higher. If you do not pass after three attempts, you must purchase the course again to get an additional three attempts. If you do not pass after six attempts, you are required to wait one year before taking the certification exam again.

The DNS-CT certification is valid for two years. 

PLEASE NOTE: The instructors will be on camera throughout the workshop. Participant cameras are optional but highly encouraged when possible, as having cameras on helps foster engagement, interaction, and a more collaborative learning experience.

Cancellation Policy: The Training Partner may cancel or postpone a workshop at any time. In the event of a cancellation, AAPACN will contact attendees and make a reasonable effort to find an acceptable substitute by rescheduling attendee’s registration or providing an on-demand, self-study alternative. AAPACN will refund an attendee’s registration fees if a substitution cannot be provided. AAPACN and the Training Partner are not responsible for any fees incurred due to cancellations or postponements.
Attendee cancellations must be submitted in writing via email to workshops@AAPACN.org. Registrants who are unable to attend may send a substitute in their place. Cancellations received more than 30 business days prior to the start date of the workshop will receive a full refund. Cancellations received 14-30 business days prior to the start date of the workshop will receive a full refund, minus a $250 cancellation fee. No refunds will be issued for cancellations received 13 or less business days prior to the start date of the workshop except for emergencies or a visit from State Surveyors. No refunds will be issued for cancellations due to weather if the workshop itself is not cancelled.

The RAC-CT certification program consists of 10 education courses designed for post-acute care professionals with at least six months of experience with the MDS/RAI process. If you have less than six months of experience, consider taking MDS Essentials as a foundation to get you started and make sure you’re prepared to succeed in the RAC-CT program.

This workshop provides 22.5 continuing education hours and covers the following content:

• MDS 3.0 Coding for OBRA and PPS, Part 2
• Introduction to ICD-10-CM Coding for Long-Term Care
• Care Area Assessments and the MDS 3.0
• Care Planning and the MDS 3.0
• OBRA Timing and Scheduling for the MDS 3.0
• Managing the Patient-Driven Payment Model in a SNF
• Introduction to Medicare Part A
• Quality Measures and the MDS 3.0
• The Five-Star Quality Rating System

To earn the RAC-CT credential, you must successfully complete the associated final certification exams with a score of 80% or higher. You will have one year from the date of the workshop before they expire. There are three exam attempts per course. Recertification is required every two years.
