What You’ll Learn

Functional abilities and goals in section GG of the MDS 3.0 currently reflects the resident’s usual performance with self-care and mobility prior to the current illness, exacerbation, or injury upon admission, interim, and discharge assessments for Medicare Part A. With the October 2023 MDS 3.0 update, section G “activities of daily living” will be deleted. The “activities of daily living” drive the resident’s care plans assist needed for personal care and mobility. Care plan verbiage will need to be updated to reflect section GG functional abilities and goals pertaining to the resident’s “usual” functional status.

Facilities can start preparing, revising, and updating care plans in their facilities. Join us for this webinar to review section GG of the MDS 3.0 and care plan criteria per regulatory guidelines. Tune in for any 2023 updates available!

Attendees of this seminar will learn how to:

1. Review section GG of the MDS 3.0
2. Discuss the changes from Section G to Section GG criteria
3. Tips for Care Planning with Section GG
4. Develop a plan for preparing, revising, and updating care plans
