The Nitty Gritty of MDS Miscoding
- March 14, 2023
10:00 am EDT - 11:30 am EDT
Event Phone: (954) MDS-3-ADL
What You’ll Learn
Miscoding of the MDS 3.0 items can significantly affect the facility reports such as quality measures, reimbursement, survey deficiencies, as well as an accurate reflection of the resident’s status. Nurse assessment coordinators (NACs) have multiple areas in the MDS that have potential for miscoding. Whereas NACs take a lead in coding MDS sections, the interdisciplinary team (IDT) is also involved. MDS coding accuracy is the driving force in long term care facilities. Let’s get down to the Nitty Gritty of MDS Miscoding!
Attendees of this seminar will learn how to:
1. Review common MDS 3.0 miscoding errors
2. Discuss areas potentially impacted by miscoding errors
3. Develop an ongoing process of monitoring MDS 3.0 coding accuracy
