What You’ll Learn

Audits are frequently conducted to determine if supporting documentation is in place and reimbursement is warranted for care that has been billed. Insurance companies are limiting reimbursement for care in the LTC setting, and the government is auditing to discover whether Medicare or Medicaid monies were over- or under-paid. Nursing facilities need to update the interdisciplinary team’s reimbursement knowledge and documentation skills to meet requirements per regulations. Key to this process is education on the RAI system, requirements of skilled documentation including capturing the highest care levels outlined in PDPM.

This webinar will identify the audits frequently conducted in LTC, explain the focus of various audits, and discuss key documentation systems to survive these reviews. Attendees of this seminar will learn how to:

1) Identify up to 3 types of audits conducted in LTC facilities and the purpose of each
2) Discuss the documentation needed to support skilled care
3) Understand need for monitoring and linking results to facility’s QAPI/QAA program
