What You’ll Learn

The pandemic has impacted resident care in a variety of areas. One area of concern is the increase in pressure ulcers/injuries and the implementation of services and/or treatment to prevent these wounds from developing. The QCOR survey citation report illustrates that F686 is currently in the top 10 list for the nation in 2021. This session will focus on the importance of identifying skin risk, planning prevention, accuracy of wound assessments and documentation. Key to this process is not only Section M of the MDS but also those areas that can increase risk such as incontinence, decreased ambulation, decreased nutrition. Can your staff identify the resident’s at risk for skin concerns? Does your staff know how to quickly address skin issues for regulatory excellence?

After attending this webinar, attendees will be able to:

  1. Review F686 – Treatment/Services to Prevent/Heal Pressure Ulcers
  2. Discuss sections of the MDS that could be linked to resident’s risk of development of pressure ulcer/injury and health status
  3. Identify areas of the RAI process that could lead to citations related F686
