What You’ll Learn

CMS published June 29, 2022 the advanced copy of the updated Requirements of Participation (RoP) and alerted the LTC community of the revisions to the guidance for Phases 2 and 3 to begin October 24, 2022. The changes in the RoP guidance affect the MDS both directly and indirectly. The guidance focuses on behavioral health care, ensuring the facility has trained and competent staff to provide care, knowledge to manage incidents and utilization of non- pharmacological and pharmacological interventions, to name a few. The guidance as well addresses the importance of resident rights, QOL and QOC and the importance of developing a resident centered personalized comprehensive care plan.

This webinar will address guidance changes, how the revisions impact the RAI process and methods for implementation or training.  After attending this webinar, attendees will be able to:

1) Understand the CMS Phase 2 and 3 revisions and guidance
2) Identify 3-4 of the RoP guidance revisions and how they impact the MDS
3) Develop a plan to implement and train guidance revisions
