What You’ll Learn
Respiratory/Tracheostomy Care and Suctioning – F695, is a top 10 deficiency in the nation according to the Quality Certification and Oversite Reports (QCOR)’s survey deficiency citations of 2021. The QoC deficiencies frequently identify residents with cognitive issues observed with oxygen at the wrong setting or not in place. The RAI process will identify those residents with respiratory difficulty, such as those with tracheostomies or those receiving oxygen. The care plan will identify the specific plan for oxygen use or tracheostomy care, as well as other care needs. The MDS will identify cognition levels and behaviors that may impact delivery and require need increased monitoring. Is your facility administering respiratory treatments appropriately?
This webinar will discuss F695, the connection with the MDS, and care plan completion to enhance respiratory care and compliance.
After attending this webinar, attendees will be able to:
- Review the requirements of F695
- Discuss the link between completion of the MDS and specific care plan needs of the resident receiving respiratory care
- Identify areas of the RAI process that could lead to citations related to F695
