What You’ll Learn
Do your resident’s behavior care plans meet the federal regulations and comply with the revised and newly developed guidance effective October 24, 2022? Are the CAAs related to behavior, mood and psychosocial investigated and used by the IDT to develop care plans? Resident mental health and behavioral needs are under close review for accurate diagnoses, behavior documentation, implementation of person-centered non-pharmacologic approaches, treatment and support from psychiatric/psychological services. Let’s review development of the CAA to Care plan process for resident with mental health and behavior needs.
This webinar will discuss the CAA to Care Plan development related to behavior health with emphasis on the supporting documentation needed to link the MDS, CAA and Care plan process together.
1) Ensure documentation supports all aspects of the RAI process
2) Understand steps needed in addressing triggered CAAs related to mental health and behavior needs
3) Discuss the development of the CAA(s) and link the investigation to care planning
Our Master Teachers – Linda J. Winston and Barbara Bates
Linda is our QAPI Certified Master Teacher and has been a nurse with over 30 years, with almost 15 years as a Director of Nursing. Linda has filled many roles in the long-term care setting, including staff nurse, supervising nurse, nurse educator and administration.
Barbara’s is our QAPI Certified Master Teacher. Her 35 year nursing career included 10 years as a Director of Nursing in an upstate NY veterans home and a specialty in psychiatric nursing for psychogeriatrics, as well as extensive experience in nursing administration and facility management.
