What You’ll Learn

The Resident Assessment Coordinator-Certified Advanced (RAC-CTA®) program is an advanced certification for clinical reimbursement leaders who are current RAC-CT holders. This workshop provides advanced principles of clinical reimbursement, Medicare program compliance and integrity, RAI/MDS program integrity, leadership, ethical practice, managing medical review, accurate ICD-10 diagnosis coding, advanced strategies for payment oversight, and improving a facility’s quality measurement in all CMS quality programs.

Whether you are a clinical reimbursement specialist in a regional, state, or national consultant, or are a professional in any aspect of MDS and Medicare compliance and oversight, this program will help you excel as a reimbursement leader. You must hold and maintain a current RAC-CT to qualify.

Our Master Teacher – Melanie Tribe-Scott

Melanie has over 20 years of experience in long-term care and has held a variety of positions including CNA, Charge Nurse, Assistant Director of Nursing, MDS Coordinator, and Clinical Reimbursement Specialist. Melanie is passionate about person centered care and resident advocacy and has been a member of AANAC since 2010 and has been RAC-CT® certified since 2011; and is now a RAC Master Teacher, a member of AADNS and is a Certified QAPI Professional.Melanie Tribe-Scott

Workshop Details

  • Schedule: 12:00 noon – 4:00pm eastern daily
  • This workshop will be held virtually, through the Zoom platform
  • Handouts will be provided to attendees electronically for this workshop. Students can download the materials to her/his device of choice to bring to the workshop. Students also have the option to download and print the materials. Access information will be sent via email to each student prior to the beginning of the workshop.
  • The RAC-CTA workshop is approved for 22.5 CEs. You must hold a current RAC-CT to qualify to become RAC-CTA certified
  • Your workshop registration includes access to the 10 RAC-CTA certification exams. To earn the credential, you must be RAC-CT certified and pass the final exams with a score of 80% or higher. You will have 90 days from the date the exams are launched before they expire.
  • Lunch is provided
  • Access the RAC-CTA certification exams in the online AANAClassroom at www.AANAC.org
  • The American Association of Post-Acute Care Nursing (AAPACN) is accredited by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.
  • AAPACN works in conjunction with the National Association of Long-Term Care Administrator Boards (NAB) to provide nursing home administrators with continuing education credit for any AANAC workshop attended. The American Association of Post-Acute Care Nursing (AAPACN) is the parent organization of AANAC.
  • Cancellation Policy: AAPACN and the Training Partner are not responsible for any fees incurred due to cancellations or postponements. Attendee cancellations must be submitted in writing via email to workshops@AAPACN.org. Registrants who are unable to attend may send a substitute in their place. Cancellations received more than 30 business days prior to the start date of the workshop will receive a full refund. Cancellations received 14-30 business days prior to the start date of the workshop will receive a full refund, minus a $250 processing fee paid to Training Partner. No refunds will be issued for cancellations received less than 13 business days prior to the start date of the workshop except for emergencies or a visit from State Surveyors. No refunds will be issued for cancelations due to weather if the workshop itself is not cancelled.
